Discover Your Design Appointment
Understanding what your kitchen can become is key to customizing this most important space. Your kitchen can be more than cabinets hanging on a wall. Anvil Kitchens exude the homeowners style and accommodates our clients movements in this space. Blending form (cabinetry design) and function (appliance selection) leads to an enhanced and simplified experience for our clients every day they walk in their kitchen. During this step you will:
- Discover Your Form: Begin to discover which design style speaks to you. Does a “less is more” approach make sense to you, leaning you in the direction of Modern or Contemporary? Do you like the feel of more detailed look but subdued in nature as that offered by a Transitional Style? Wood Grain (prominent or subtle) or our Custom Painted process? Do you lean toward a more embellished experience of Traditional design? You will discover YOUR style in this appointment.
- Discover Your Desired Function: While certainly design adds to function, in this appointment you will meet with our renowned Chef, Chef Vaughn Hobbs as he introduces the world of appliances to you. How does Steam work and will it benefit you? How much refrigeration is needed for day to day use and for your preferred entertaining? Gas Surface vs Induction, Cooktop vs Rangetop vs Range? Convection Cooking, Meat Probe use. Ventilation Options. Until we help you discover what you truly want in appliances, we can't even begin the design process.
By discovering your Design Form and Appliance Function, you are ensured that your kitchen will truly be YOUR kitchen. We aren't in the business of creating cookie cutter kitchens, rather we empower our clients to create in their homes. We are confident you will love creating in your Anvil Custom Kitchen.
Cabinetry Design Appointments
We realize that good design takes time and effort. Our experienced Kitchen Designers take your plans and drill down specifically on each area of your home. Through this process, you will be introduced to our cutting edge software that helps you envision your project. With the benefit of Color 3-D Renderings, Plan Views, and Elevation Views, you can point out the features of your spaces that you like as well as identify the areas that need improvement. We will work with you and your team to change, tweak, massage, and modify. Tom Heiler said "The role of a designer is that of a good, thoughtful host, anticipating the needs of his guests". We will continue to work hard for you until you are satisfied and excited about your design. This may not happen in one or two appointments. That is OK. After the second design appointment, while your design may not be totally finalized, at this step you will know whether we are right for you. It is at this juncture that you will commit to a relationship with Anvil Cabinet & Mill, and your Kitchen Designer by paying your retainer. We will continue to work hard for you until your design is refined to your satisfaction.
Try Before You Buy Chef Demonstration Appointment

During this step, Chef will spend time with you and other clients demonstrating the appliances and the technologies you have selected…and of course…eating is involved after the demonstration. This will give you the opportunity to dawn an apron and as the Irish proverb says experience how "Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is." In the “Discover Your Design” Appointment, we got a feel for your appliance desires and investment range. Previous to this appointment, our Appliance Sales Team will be providing you with the appropriate amount of appliance quotes, built around your input and your investment range. These appliances will be communicated to your Kitchen Designer for proper placement in your design. You will finalize your appliance selections in this step and we will go to work securing the proposed pricing and promotions and setting up delivery. Where else can you experience such concern by a company striving to help your kitchen literally come to life?
Countertop Selection Appointment
Countertop Selection Appointment An important function and aesthetic element of your kitchen is that of your countertops. During this appointment, our Kitchen Designers will guide you to our countertop experts, turning you over to their well qualified hands. In this appointment, you will be educated on the different varieties of available countertop materials, the pros and the cons. Once you have zeroed in on the countertop type of your choice, your countertop representative will suggest colors to compliment your cabinet selection. They will also suggest value based sink selections for your convenience as well, further aiding the coordinated effort to ensure this part of the process goes as smoothly as possible.

Hardware Selection Tour
In some spaces, the hardware selection is fairly simple, other spaces it takes a concerted effort of your Kitchen Designer comparing to your design, post on-site layout and recommending hardware lengths that fit your discovered design. Onsite Job Layout
Before your job can go into the shop, we want to measure twice so we hopefully only have to cut once. We will schedule to do an onsite job layout, paying particular attention to window and door placement, finished ceiling heights, and other spacial constraints. We are proud to be working for you and will place our sign at your site at this time. If you would prefer we not leave a sign, no problem, just let us know, but it does help our team identify where they will be installing your job and will probably make your neighbors a little jealous.
Installation of Cabinetry, Countertops, and Appliances
Our scheduling department will coordinate the delivery and installation of your Anvil Quality Custom Cabinetry. As you walk through your project, contact your Kitchen Designer with any questions you have. Our team is here to serve you. Westrive to finish your project as timely as we can. Proper planning and a clean installation site with easy access to the home is imperative on you and your builders part to make this part of the process go as smoothly as it can. If you see something unanticipated, your Kitchen Designer will work with you to determine the cost associated with the change. We truly want you to be 100% happy. Your cabinets will be vacuumed out, but we do highly recommend your cleaning crew to go through each cabinet and drawer previous to your moving in.
Appliance Q & A with Chef Vaughn
Once you have moved in and have spent a little time getting to know your appliances, we invite you to email and set up an appt. with Chef Vaughn to come back to our Salt Lake Design Center and get any questions answered on your appliances. If there is a particular dish you would like him to demonstrate using the appliance models you purchased, no problem, just mention this to him when you are setting the appointment.
